Varsity

Every year I participated in our Varsity coverage and, in true Daytime presenter style, I came up with fun new features to make the coverage around the event more entertaining.

One of my favourite features was a segment called Bertram on Varsity where I interviewed the players from each sport with absurd questions in a deadpan style so they believed it was a genuinely serious interview and were very confused.

We released three episodes of this and then did one interview life on air. Some of the questions were obviously rather silly but for the live interview I had no idea about the sport and was presented with the questions which could have been legitimate sporting questions which only added to the confusion and entertaining answers given by the interviewees.

In second year I worked on a mix of features with the contestants including a quiz show on categories they hadn’t picked and AAMR-sity where they had to whisper into the mic about their sports and add sound effects.
