Deputy reactive news editor
I support the reactive news editor in commissioning and overseeing The Guardian’s breaking news video coverage, working closely with producers to identify visually compelling stories, prioritise output demands, and refine edits to ensure high editorial standards. I contribute to daily editorial meetings, helping to shape coverage plans and communicate video strategy across desks, while also managing key administrative responsibilities to support the effective running of the team. As the first person to hold this role, created to meet the growing demands of the desk, I have played an important part in strengthening workflows, fostering cross-team relationships, and supporting team wellbeing.
Acting reactive news editor
For eight months, I stepped into the role of acting reactive news editor, leading the team through a particularly challenging period marked by limited resources and increased demand.
Reactive Sport editor
I was formerly the reactive sports editor for video at The Guardian, where I led the output of sport video content across the website and social media platforms.
In this role, I responded swiftly to breaking news, delivering timely, relevant, and engaging video coverage, while also commissioning and curating exclusive content for the Guardian.
I played a key role in the organic growth of both the Sport and Football YouTube channels, alongside producing platform-native content tailored to reach audiences across digital channels. Building on my experience at The Sun, I brought a strong sense of pace, editorial judgement, and creativity to the role, shaping it into a dynamic and engaging destination where sports audiences could access the most compelling footage and defining moments from across the sporting world.
