The Sarah Show

Throughout my three years at URN I presented and produced my own weekly daytime radio show. On this show I played and discussed the latest music, came up with entertaining features to entertain my guests and then edited together small videos and soundbites from the show to upload to my social media.

For some of the three years I was accompanied by a co-host which enabled me to play more interactive games but for much of it I also presented alone which meant I had to learn to provide two hours of varied entertainment without anyone to directly react to.

I had specific social media pages for the show that kept followers up to date on the best bits. It also allowed me to interact with the audience more easily through quizzes, comments and polls. I also gave away a prize on each show and came up with new ways for the audience to win depending on the prize available. This was a good way of creating engagement with my listeners.

Producing this show alone taught me how to use audition and I kept developing my skills over time so by the time I left I feel like I could use the program to a high standard.

During my final two years we were having new studios built and so maintaining good audio quality was a battle at times.
