Acting / LAMDA

I have been acting since before I can remember, and I feel at my most confident when onstage.

  • I have a Gold Medal, Grade 8 with distinction in Performing Arts from LAMDA
  • I also received an award for Character Acting in 2015.

Funny memories onstage:

My earliest memory is of being in a production of Annie, where I was the most glamourous orphan (due to my mother’s hair curlers and red lippy). As I was so young though, I cried when watching the film for research, as I convinced myself that I was to be sent away from my parents forever, not quite understanding the concept of ‘acting’.

I also remember being a tree in a play about a rainforest, and my dad’s artistic skills meant that I blocked most of the other children on the stage.

For my school leavers play I played the mother who gave away her baby to the neighbouring tribe to create peace, and everyone thought I was a fabulous actor because I genuinely cried and had a tear-stained face for the rest of the performance; it was only when they saw me still crying afterwards that they realised I actually had a sore throat and was convinced that I had embarrassed myself during my solo.

For GCSE I played a ditzy granny named Dot whose skills included knitting and being rather deaf. Unfortunately, on the day of the assessed performance my knitting needles were poking the wrong way and I absolutely ruined my genuine attempt at a scarf by just attempting to knit backwards.
